China Risk Management Standard International Forum 2007 was held on 1st December, 2007 in Beijing. The main sponsor of the Forum is SAC. First Huida Risk Management Corp. was the associate sponsor of the Forum. The Forum is the first advanced international risk Management standardization forum held in China, with the emphasis on the best practices of risk Management and the implementation of risk Management standardization.

The forum was aimed at tracking the ‘Best Practice’ of risk Management worldwide, and providing a communication platform between policy makers, service providers and industry experts. The forum will turn into a vane of China ERM practice.

Attendees of the forum were from various organizations including regulatory agencies, consultancies, trainers, research institutions and corporations of different industries all over the world. Some of the participants were from large Chinese enterprises which are pioneers of China ERM practice.

The Forum turned the special invitation to some well-known international risk Management experts, including: Mr. Kevin W.Knight, who convenes the ISO/TMB Risk Management WG; Ms. Nicki Dennis, the Director of British Standards Institution (BSI) Marketing Department; Mr. Awad Louani, Risk Management and Quality Assurance Bureau, Canadian Public and Governmental Service Department; Dr. Bahn Michael, former Director of Production Safety, Henkel. At the mean time, Directors from Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China (SAC), State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) also participated in.

The forum emphasized particularly on how the risk Management standardization would support the implementation of the integrated strategy for risk Management. It is the companies that are the implementers and beneficiaries of the ‘Risk Management Standard’. The attendance of enterprise representatives exhibits the industry support of the standardization of risk Management. The forum was a big success, and it was treated as a benchmark in Chinese risk Management standardization evolution.
